Russia has long been known for producing beautiful and intelligent women. From sports stars to singers, Russia has gifted the world with countless successful, inspiring and gorgeous ladies throughout history. In 2016 however, who should be considered the 12 most beautiful Russian women?
12 – Irson Kudikova
Miss Kudikova is one of the more versatile ladies on our list. As well as ticking the actress, singer and model boxes, she is also a proficient saxophonist and music producer. First entering the public eye as a contestant on ‘Alla Pugacheva’s Star Factory 5’, Irson has since flourished as an entertainer and entrepreneur.
11 – Anne Vyalitsyna
This blonde beauty became a Sports Illustrated mainstay for almost a decade and has racked up modelling gigs with a host of big names such as Chanel and Prada. Her brief cameo in ‘A Good Day To Die Hard’ was possibly the most enjoyable part of the film.
10 – Maria Sharapova
One of a number of female Tennis stars from Russia, Maria Sharapova is a huge name in the sport with five grand slam titles in her collection. In addition to her achievements on the court, she also masterminded ‘Sugarpova’, a candy company that shares its profits with Sharapova’s charity foundation.
9 – Elena Korikova
Certainly one of this list’s lesser known names outside of Russia, Korikova has been a prolific actress in TV and film in her homeland and was nominated for a Nika Award (Russia’s Oscar equivalent) for her role in ‘Mistress Into Maid’. The 43-year old has also ventured into the music world, performing with pop act, Vintage.
8 – Oksana Akinshina
Another Nika-nominated actress, though this time with international pedigree. In addition to her many credits in Russian cinema, Akinshina also featured opposite Matt Damon in ‘The Bourne Supremacy’ as Irena Neski, a young woman Bourne orphaned.
7 – Kristina Asmus
Crowed Maxim’s Sexist Woman in Russia in 2012, Asmus begun her acting career at a young age and has since appeared in a variety of stage and screen productions. The 27 year old beauty made her name in Russian medical sitcom, ‘Interns’, a show often compared to U.S. hit ‘Scrubs’, where Asmus plays Elliot Reid’s equivalent.
6 – Anna Kournikova
Our second household name tennis player made her debut at the tender age of 15 but injury forced Kournikova to retire at only 21 after a successful doubles partnership with Martina Hingis. Anna remained in the spotlight with a number of media appearances and made arguably her most significant contribution to the world with the PlayStation classic ‘Anna Kournikova’s Smash Court Tennis’.
5 – Masha Novoselova
Undoubtedly one of Russia’s most sought after supermodels, there are very few top designers that Masha hasn’t represented, covering high-end labels such as Gucci and high-street retailers H&M. After marrying her partner in 2010, the gorgeous Novoselova lives happily with her two children.
4 – Yuliya Snigir
Amazingly, Snigir is our second entry to have appeared in ‘A Good Day To Die Hard’. Clearly the producers have excellent taste. This 32 year old actress and model has also appeared in American thriller ‘Freezer’ with Dylan McDermott and has been the face of L’Oreal.
3 – Vera Brezhneva
A woman of many talents, Brezhneva has dabbled in music, presenting and acting. Originally a member of girl-group Nu Virgos, Brezhneva left to pursue other ventures, subsequently landing a role presenting TV game show ‘Power of 10’. Since then, the eternally youthful blonde has released two solo albums and appeared in multiple romantic comedies.
2 – Natalia Vodianova
Vodianova is one of the wealthier entries on this list, a fact made all the more remarkable by her background selling fruit on the street as a teenager. The 34 year-old is now an internationally recognised model and has launched several charitable projects such as the Naked Heart Foundation and Elbi app.
1 – Irina Shayk
Though many will know her as Cristiano Ronaldo’s ex, Miss Shayk has had a distinguished modelling career with Sports Illustrated and has featured in a variety of Western media, including Kanye West’s ‘Power’ video. Having seemingly set her sights on Hollywood, Irina made her film debut in 2014’s Hercules as Medusa.
